A HISTORY OF BATHROOMS SINCE 1892

When the ceramics factory was created in Laufen in 1892, the history began of a company that today ranks as one of the leading sanitary ceramics companies world-wide. The LAUFEN Bathroom Group has a staff of over 2000 active in 28 countries. It has six manufacturing plants annually producing 4.5 million pieces of sanitary ceramics, which reach the final consumers through more than 800 sales outlets world-wide. Since 1999, LAUFEN has been part of the Roca Group, one of the largest manufacturers of bathroom ceramics world-wide has passed from a monotype production of sanitary fittings in the Seventies, to designer collections (Balestra collection) in the Eighties, to becoming in the Nineties, the first producer in the district who is design oriented. Today it is one of the most important companies in Italy in this field, with 200 employees and 45,000 sq. mt. of production space, wide-spread distribution throughout the country and notable presence on various international markets.

IL BAGNO ALESSI One

The bathroom is becoming ever more a place where the imagination can be given free rein. For a long time now, it has no longer served for ablutions alone, but it appeals to the senses and provides an area for personal experience. «Il Bagno Alessi One» by Stefano Giovannoni releases emotions with fundamental design stimuli. His revolutionary bathrooms unite feminine roundness, salient masculine lines and childlike spontaneity to form an emotional whole – a bathroom, in which you can get to know a completely new person. Yourself.

IL BAGNO ALESSI dOt

«Il Bagno Alessi dOt» is the promise of the Dutch individualist and architect, Wiel Arets, that the user of his design objects will not be distracted by anything while involved in the process of personal hygiene. The formal language is reserved and repeats in all the components. As he sees it, the circle – while not predominant – does form the key design element of the ceramics, the chrome-plated elements and the furniture.

Palomba Collection

The Palomba Collection purports to be an evolution of pure geometry. It does not aim to be static, but to reflect the dynamic synthesis of rational, poetic and natural forms. The washbasin forms are flowing, barely distinguishable from the water itself. They are rather reminiscent of bays and reefs which developed over thousands of years of combat between water and landscape. Roberto and Ludovica Palomba call it the «fingerprint of Nature».
